The topic of the presentation is "Getting the Tone Right in E-mail Messages" . Have you ever received a hostile or passive aggressive e-mail message? Do you sometimes wonder if you have sent a message that was misunderstood? Tone is one of the most difficult - and important - components of communication in any professional setting. In this presentation, you will view and discuss various e-mail messages and their tones and discuss data that presses the importance of clear e-mail communication.
Krista researches workplace communication and teaches writing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she is earning a Ph.D. in Composition and Applied Linguistics. She has an M.A. in English from James Madison University and has taught in various institutional settings including James Madison University, Seton Hill University, University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg, and Westmoreland County Community College.
