Educational Program Committee

In 1971, the Chamber added an Economic Understanding Committee and a Business Education Committee (these groups were combined in 1991 into the present  Educational Program Committee) to its annual business plan. In partnership with area schools, these area Chamber business leaders design and conduct programs students in the Greater Latrobe and Derry Area school districts, to help them learn the practical side of economic principles at work in America's free enterprise system. Today, students from Derry Area and Greater Latrobe School Districts grade 6 though 12 participate in our many Education Committee programs annually.

The education committee meets on the last Friday of the month September through May. If you would like to be a part of this committee, please contact us.

Ambassador Committee

The Greater Latrobe - Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce ambassador committee is comprised of chamber members who assist new members with their membership. This helps our members feel welcome, but also enables them to learn more about each other and the ways they can participate in the community. It is this type of engagement that leads to the success of our chamber businesses throughout the year! Ambassadors can also assist with website navigation and can answer questions about how programs, like the Neighborhood Card program or chamber perks, help fellow members. Ambassadors help the chamber fulfill our mission every day!
The chamber services businesses large and small, and through the ambassador program, our members help businesses to thrive and succeed.

The ambassador committee meets monthly.  If you would like to join the Ambassador committee, or would like more information, please contact us.

Event Committees

The chamber hosts many other events and fundraisers annually.  If you would like to share your time and talent in planning an event, please contact us.  We currently have room on the following committees:

Golf Classic

The golf committee helps to plan the annual golf classic which takes place in July.

Steelers Fest

The Steelers Fest committee helps organize the one-day event held at Memorial Stadium prior to the Friday Night Lights Steeler practice game. This event takes place in early August.

Great American Banana Split Celebration

This event has the greatest need for committee members and volunteers. This weekend-long celebration takes place in late August.

Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony

Do you have great party and event planning panache? Join the planning committee for our Annual Dinner! This event takes place in late October.
