Founded in 1983, the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates employment, education, and training programs in southwestern Pennsylvania. PIC assists youth, adults, dislocated workers, and the economically disadvantaged in reaching their educational goals, supporting their family growth, and obtaining training and employment. PIC operates over two dozen programs through three divisions; Early Childhood Development, Education, and Workforce Development. The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc., (PIC) has been a member of the Greater Latrobe Chamber of Commerce since 1999.

Through workforce development and adult/youth training and employment services, PIC has helped the unemployed and underemployed find employment and obtain training in high demand occupations. PIC operates the PA CareerLink ® offices in Westmoreland and Fayette Counties. Jonathan Brosh, Account Representative for the Westmoreland CareerLink says “ I enjoy attending ‘Business After Hour’ events, ‘Morning Mingles’ and ribbon-cutting ceremonies, where I am able to meet and network with local companies about the services PIC/PA CareerLink can provide.” He further states “Our relationship with the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce and its members helps
PIC to serve a larger community allowing the Private Industry Council to expand and help those in need.”

In the Fall of 2021, PIC opened a Pre-K Counts classroom at Latrobe Elementary! Laura Rockwell, Pre-K Counts Manager says, “This year, the Private Industry Council opened its second Pre-K Counts Classroom in Westmoreland County. Children enrolled in quality pre-kindergarten have a better chance of being ready for kindergarten and doing well in school. It has been great working with the Staff at Latrobe Elementary.” Shujuane Martin, the CEO/President of PIC adds, “We are always looking for ways to better support our local community and we thank Greater Latrobe Chamber of Commerce for keeping us connected.”
