McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in room 41 of Alfred Hall (fourth floor) on the campus of Saint Vincent College.
The event will be presented by Dr. Michael J. Urick, associate professor of management and operational excellence and director of the graduate degree program.
For those unable to attend the session in-person, it will also be accessible online. To receive a link and log-in information for the virtual session, contact Urick at email@example.com.
The information session is designed for attendees to ask any questions they may have. Items that will be discussed include the philosophy of the program, course requirements, special programs including experiential seminars and trips, and the program’s unique blend of traditional management concepts with Operational Excellence tools.
The MSMOE program takes an innovative approach to exploring major issues facing managers in today’s turbulent business climate. Specifically, the program is innovative in its approach to supplementing classroom learning with a hands-on approach that provides students the tools they need to minimize waste in their organizations while increasing quality, improving efficiency and fostering employee commitment. As such, the MSMOE defines “management” as focusing on three interrelated areas: people, organizations and processes. The MSMOE Program helps its students build trust, foster collaboration, develop skills related to understanding their environment, craft goals and understand key metrics that help them achieve high productivity, output and efficiency for their organizations.
Faculty in the MSMOE include leaders in their respective areas who have experience as managers, executives, researchers, business owners and consultants. Graduates of the program have consistently reported being more effective in their jobs as well as being aggressively recruited by organizations who see proper management techniques as crucial to improving their operations on the path to becoming truly excellent.
The MSMOE program at Saint Vincent has earned a national reputation. The website www.valuecolleges.com recently named it one of the Top 20 Best Online Master’s in Management Program in the U.S. and one of the Top 25 Best Value Master’s in Management Programs in the country. U.S. News and World Report placed the program 32nd in its ranking of top Non-MBA Business Online Graduate Programs.
