SAINT VINCENT COLLEGE SCHOOL OF ARTS, HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES TO HOST NOV. 18 OPEN HOUSE
LATROBE, PA – The Saint Vincent College Office of Admission and the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences invites prospective students to an open house on Monday, Nov. 18. The event is geared toward high school juniors and seniors who are interested in studying one of the more than 20 programs offered by the school.
The day will begin with registration in the Fred M. Rogers Center from 8:30 – 9 a.m., followed by a welcome from Saint Vincent College president Father Paul Taylor, O.S.B., dean of admission Heather Kabala and Dr. Margaret Watkins, dean of the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Following registration, prospective students will attend a classroom demonstration and roundtable discussion, while parents will attend information sessions on admission, financial aid and the SVC Career and Professional Development Center, while also taking a tour of campus.
Following an arts demonstration in the Performing Arts Center in the Robert S. Carey Student Center, lunch will be provided in the Community Center Dining Hall, before an academic majors fair will take place in the Fred M. Rogers Center. The day will conclude with campus walking tours from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences offers majors in anthropology, art education, communication, digital art and media, early childhood (pre K-4) education, English, history, liberal arts, middle grade (4-8) education, music, philosophy, psychology, public history, sociology, Spanish, studio arts and theology. Thirty-three minors are also offered, along with certification programs in special education, K-12 education and secondary education.
