• Broadband Final Report and New Service Areas Announced!

    A Broadband Plan for Westmoreland

The Westmoreland County Commissioners yesterday released the Broadband Data Collection & Feasibility Study Final Report that identified more than 3,500 locations across the county as having little to no broadband connectivity. The findings will help to inform the next steps in bridging the digital gaps in Westmoreland County.

The final report and highlights video from the press event is featured on the updated website which also includes the new service areas, public survey results, program information, resources, and much more.

    Early Action Areas

Based on the data from the study's fieldwork and surveys, four Early Action areas were reviewed by the Taskforce and approved by the County Commissioners for Derry, Fairfield, and Ligonier Townships. The Early Action process allows Westmoreland County, select Internet Service Providers, and associated contractor staff to quickly initiate the process of rolling out broadband to areas that need it the most.
