Latrobe Chevrolet and Ford is a family-owned and operated dealership offering new and used cars. The dealership also operates a service/parts department and collision shop. They provide flexibility for financing and insurance, working with over 15 insurance companies, and over 30 banks and credit unions to help streamline the process of purchasing your vehicles.
“We believe in family, customer service, and our community. We take care of our customers,” says Amy Peer, Operations Manager. She says Latrobe Auto Group — which consists of Latrobe Chevrolet and Latrobe Ford — gives off a different atmosphere compared to other car dealerships. “When you walk into our business, the owner is there, it isn’t corporate,” she says. “It’s family and that tradition will continue.
Her time with the company goes back to the 1980s and ’90s when the business operated as Colonial Chevrolet and Colonial Ford. While her father, Lud Druchniak, worked as the general manager, Peer answered phones, greeted customers, worked as a cashier, and even sold cars for a short period of time. Druchniak bought the company in May 2006, and father and daughter still work together. Following in her father’s footsteps, Peer completed the National Automobile Dealers Association dealer school in 2018 and is positioned to take over the family business upon his retirement. “I am proud to work alongside my father every day, to learn from each other and hopefully someday work along with the next generation in this family business,” she says.
Amy currently serves on the GLLV Chamber Board of Directors as Vice-Chair and is president of the Rotary Club of Latrobe. The dealership has sponsored Trinity Lutheran's popular Car Hop for many years and is an active supporter of local youth sports teams.
“We participate in as many local events as possible, and being a part of the chamber helps us stay in touch with our local merchants, customers, and events.”
Latrobe Chevrolet and Ford have been a proud member of the chamber since 1986. “The chamber has introduced us to new and established businesses. Shopping locally helps our business community, our economy, and our friends. The chamber puts our local businesses in front of our local customers – the heart of Latrobe – the home of the banana split, Arnold Palmer, and Fred Rogers."
