Carclo Technical Plastics is a contract manufacturer specializing in injection molding and assembly for the healthcare, electronic, and optic industries. Today, they operate in eight manufacturing locations across the United States (Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, & Arizona), United Kingdom, Czech Republic, India, and China. Within Westmoreland County, we have manufacturing facilities in Latrobe (550 & 600 Depot Street), a distribution warehouse near the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport, and another manufacturing location in Export, PA. Their mission is to exceed customer, employee, community, and shareholder expectations within a zero complaint culture. They strive to be a reputable, safe, and environmentally conscious employer for the community while providing skills, career development, security, and competitive benefits to our employees.
The US operations were founded in Latrobe (1984) as Carrera Corporation which was acquired by Carclo Technical Plastics in 1999.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Carclo was deemed an essential business as we manufacture critical components for many of the world’s largest medical companies. Of these components, many are now being used for COVID-19 testing, protection, and vaccine manufacturing. Not only have they stayed operational throughout the pandemic, they are actively promoting many new employment opportunities.
In Spring 2020, Carclo Safetywear was created to design and develop PPE visors. Carclo was able to share these visors with local businesses, schools, and other essential workers to create safer working environments during the pandemic. To date, Carclo has donated over 4,100 visors worldwide.
Since joining the Chamber, Carclo has seen enhanced brand recognition within the community. This has improved our overall employee recruitment and assisted with developing key partnerships within the community.
We've been a Chamber member since 2014, and we love that membership provides us with the opportunity to be involved with the local community.
