March Member of the Month, Tawnya Rockwell, GOAL Magazine

Tawnya Rockwell
’s role at GOAL Magazine is coordinating the production of the publication, working closely with its contributors as well as co-coordinating the annual charity and educational events. In addition to her role at GOAL Magazine, Tawnya is the Director of Relationship Development and Engagement at SecondHalf Coach Wealth Management with responsibilities including marketing and client events.

GOAL Magazine is published by GO2GOAL, a nonprofit based in Latrobe and founded in June of 2016 by the managing partners of SecondHalf Coach Wealth Management-- William Urbanik, Tony Slezak and Jessica Marazza. In June of 2017, they brought Tawnya on board to help bring their vision to life. “She’s such an incredible asset to the team,” said Urbanik, Slezak and Marazza. “She has a special way with people and years of expertise. We are very lucky to have her here.”

The mission of GOAL Magazine is all about community and providing meaningful and thought-provoking information to the public. Contributors to the magazine are all local professionals. The hope is to inspire others to share their expertise and become part of something bigger than they are individually, thus creating a collective and empowering wealth of knowledge in each issue of GOAL.

GOAL Magazine is more than a publication, it is a movement. GOAL is deeply committed to giving back to the community by supporting a variety of non-profit organizations via GOAL Magazine events. Through the annual GOAL Golf Outing and Gala more than $117,000 has been raised for local charities including the Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation, The Animal Friends of Westmoreland and Our Clubhouse Westmoreland.

GOAL has also hosted community symposiums to address tough subjects such as the drug epidemic, bullying and human trafficking with panels of local experts and organizations. Through their female networking group, SHE, GOAL has collected donations for local charities including Dress for Success Pittsburgh and Blackburn Center.

Tawnya enjoys making the most out of the membership by attending the Chamber luncheons and after-hours events, finding value in attending each one. She currently serves on the Chamber Ambassador Committee, Activity Chairman for the Great American Banana Split Celebration committee and volunteers each year for the annual GLLV Chamber Golf Outing. Outside of the Chamber, she also serves on the planning committee for The Old Joe Club Charities Croquet Tournament.

Since joining the Chamber in June of 2017, it has given me many opportunities to get to know the people in our community and has been a very innovative and fun way to collaborate with local business professionals.  I feel being a member of the GLLV Chamber has made such a positive impact on my career and GOAL Magazine, not to mention I have met some pretty incredible people through being involved, making many meaningful relationships,” said Tawnya.
