MARCH 2019 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT-Kelly Hoover, Standard Bank

If you are looking for a creative solution for your financial needs, then Kelly Hoover, Community Banking Center Manager at the Ligonier office of Standard Bank might be just the person to talk to. Kelly has been in the banking industry since 1982, when she started her career with Southwest Bank. One of the things you will hear when talking with Kelly is " I have always focused my career on doing what is “right” for each and every customer I have the privilege of serving. Throughout my profession, I realized that all individuals and businesses have their own unique banking needs and goals, so every client must be served with the upmost respect and confidentiality to achieve those needs and goals."

This is one of the things that makes Kelly stand out. " I am very humbled and honored to have been selected as the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce Member of the Month.  I have truly enjoyed being a member and being involved. The Chamber is a very rewarding and exciting place to meet others who represent our business community. I always look forward to referring business and being referred by other business members.  In addition, I look forward to continuing my affiliation with the Chamber and building relationships to achieve success and business growth in our communities. "

One of the reasons that Kelly enjoys working for Standard Bank is due to it's long history. In 1913, Standard Bank was founded by a group of local business leaders who wanted to be set apart from the titans of the day.  Standard Bank has stood strong through the Great Depression, WWII, The Cold War, various elections or global tensions, local economic booms and busts, and the Great Recession.  In 2017, Allegheny Valley Bank and Standard Bank successfully completed a merger of equals. While both banks could have continued on separate paths, they chose to merge to offer more products and services to their customers.  We continue to stand as Standard Bank, and are even better and stronger than before, while adhering to the same great vision of relationship banking.

"Standard Bank reminds me of HOME, a comfortable place where we are honored to gain your business, offer solutions to your individual and business requirements, while exceeding your greatest expectations of customer service and commitment."

"Most banks offer similar products and services, regardless of size, but we add something a bit more unique to these options: We focus on providing outstanding one-on-one customer service. Standard Bank continues to thrive and celebrate the many successes of our clients. We promise a fulfilling experience and do our best in growing our local economy while promoting individuals helping their communities to flourish.  We do this through our Community Foundation Donations and our Make a Wish Campaigns. We’ve given $890,390 to local organizations and $545,000 to Make-A-Wish through the years, and this is an ongoing focus on our community support."

You can hear the pride in Kelly's voice when she reflects on her home. "This community is a wonderful place to raise a family and work for a community-focused bank. I have resided in Unity Township for the past 27 years with my husband, Melvin, and son, Josh, who are both graduates of the Greater Latrobe School District. There is plenty to do and a lot of history in our area.  Along with all the historical buildings, museums, arts, beautiful parks, festivals, and recreation we have the infamous Steelers Camp. We also proudly boast the legendary Mr. Rodgers, Arnold Palmer, and the home of the Banana split."

Kelly's final note....."It’s a pleasure to be part of the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, and I value the relationships I have made here.  I would be honored to help you or your business with your banking or loan needs anytime. My door is always open to you!"
