FEBRUARY MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Linda K. O'Bryan Director of Marketing - Penneco Outdoor Advertising

Linda K. O’Bryan moved to the Salem Township area of Greensburg when she was just six years old, spending twelve years in Greensburg Salem School District before graduating in 1987. She went on to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College, graduating in 1991 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. From there, she spent nearly fifteen years in the retail management world, with most of her time was spent as a merchandising manager with JC Penney. In the past, she has also worked for Talbots, Old Navy and Coach, Inc.
In 2004, O’Bryan left the retail industry after the birth of her second child, but sales, she says, “has always been my vocation. I found my way into insurance and banking before I finally started to sell billboard advertising in 2007, beginning with Penneco Outdoor in 2009. They had decided to venture into the outdoor advertising realm, and I haven’t regretted that decision at any point.”

O’Bryan loves applying the skills she learned in retail management to her current job in advertising. “What makes this career truly fitting for me is that I get to interact with many different businesses and people on a daily basis. When I was in retail management, I was working with my staff and those customers that walked through our doors. With being in the sales and advertising realm, I get to speak with a wide variety of people. I love interacting with the small businesses as well as the global advertising agencies.”
She also enjoys working in the small-business environment. “There is no confusion as to which salesperson spoke to a customer; no “middleman” that gets in the way of the details. I am the contact person from start to finish, and I think that is not only a unique situation but also comforting to our customers.”

When Penneco Outdoor started in 2009, they had fourteen billboard structures throughout Westmoreland and Indiana Counties. Over the last ten years, Linda has helped to grow the business tremendously, increasing the number of billboards to 32 sites within five counties, including Allegheny, Fayette and Bedford counties.

O’Bryan is exceedingly proud of Penneco’s structures and locations. “We not only provide both vinyl static and digital boards, but also a wide variety of sizes and rate options. When you consider that each of our signs has between 2-18 faces available, and along some of the most heavily traveled routes, we have over 120 spectacular sites to help our customers get their advertising message to their potential customers.”

Since joining the GLLV Chamber in 2017, O’Bryan says she has gotten to meet some wonderful business people. “Every one of them truly brings something special to the Chamber. The events that I attend the most are the networking breakfast and lunches, and I have really enjoyed learning about the other businesses in the area and the people behind them. I appreciate the opportunity to let them know about me and the wonderful company I represent, Penneco Outdoor Advertising.”

O’Bryan leaves us with her company slogan: “Your business grows when your name is above ours.”
